Today has been one of the best days of my life. Let me begin by saying that Truman lately has been VERY sensitive when it comes to God. He is always asking questions about God, and making little comments here and there. For instance, when we were looking for a church, one Sunday we turned into the parking lot of one we were "trying out", and suddenly he exlaimed, "HEY! this is the church I drew in my picture! Jesus is here!" If any of you know Tru, he tends to be a very shy boy, but for some reason he was drawn to this church. Needless to say...he was right...we've been going ever since! Another time, he overheard his older cousins fighting. Tru was quick to step in to remind them that they need to stop the fighting and that God wants us all to love each other.
All of this I believe adds up to what happened today...Truman was sitting in the dining room coloring with his cousin Conor, and he asked me, "Mom, what does it feel like to have Jesus in your heart?" Needless to say my mind started to go a million miles a minute wondering how I was going to answer this question, wondering where it was going to lead, and wishing I had someone there to witness what I hoped was about to happen. So I explained that having Jesus in your heart was a good feeling because we know that He saved us and that He is ALWAYS there for us.
After I explained all of this to him, I asked Tru if he wanted to pray and ask Jesus to come into his heart. He said he did! So right there, in the dining room I got to pray with my son as he accepted the Lord. It was the most amazing feeling! I wanted to tell EVERYONE! 7/7/07 has unexpectedly found itself up there along with the best days of my life!!!
PS> Tru is also THRILLED about the fact that now he has TWO birthdays!!
