Dry Spell

Wow! I cannot believe that I have gone a whole month without posting a single thing!!

Quite a bit has happened over the past month, and we have been trying to adjust to the many changes going on in life right now. With that said, please accept my most humble apologies concerning my neglect to all of you readers here in blog-world.

And now for our latest updates...

I would have to say that our largest life change right now would be our decision to homeschooling our children. I believe that this decision has been a long time coming, and I am happy to say that we are THRILLED with this school year! We are using a fairly new curriculum (I guess you could say-comparing it to the "big-time") called My Father's World. A couple of things I love the most about this new adventure is the bonding that my kids and I are experiencing, and also the chance to actually SEE my children learn. To me THAT is the most amazing thing!

On October 1, Don got in the car and made the 12 hr. trip up to NY to come and get his family. We had not seen him since August, so needless to say it was a VERY happy reunion! Our last day in NY was bittersweet. Were were happy that we were finally going to be together as a family, but we were also very sad, because we had to say goodbye once again to Pop-Pop, Grandmama, Anj, and Grace. That day we did our best to cram as many fun things into it as we could.

Sunday morning, we went to church, and got to see a concert of a group that had used to come to the church when I was a little girl! I was VERY excited about that because we hadn't seen the Couriers in YEARS! I will have to tell you, that morning I was definitely taken back to my childhood...

After church we headed on out to an apple orchard in East Fishkill to relive another childhood memory. Apple picking followed by fresh made donuts and apple cider. I can honestly say that I have NEVER seen the trees so FULL of fruit! This was so much fun!

Last, we headed our weary little bodies on the Memorial Park in Beacon where we just hung out and the kids ran and played and got REALLY tired! Even my grandmother got in on this part of the outing!
I love this picture! Four generations!

I guess it is more than safe to say that our trip to New York was a wonderful time of reminiscing, and also making lots of NEW memories! We miss everyone terribly now, but are still fresh with the wonderful thoughts that we have of our trip!
