A Christmas Prayer (part 1)

It began sometime in late October I think. We had been talking about the upcoming Christmas holiday for some time already. I was sitting on the couch next to Truman and we were watching T.V. when one of those commercials with the "happy cows" came on. While it was playing, Tru turned to me and said, "Mom, that's the BEST Christmas present that I'm gonna pray for." I looked back at Truman wondering why in the world he wanted a cow for Christmas...so I asked him. His answer was, "No, I'm going to pray for snow this Christmas." Now the chances of our having a "White Christmas" in NY were always hit or miss, but the chance for a Christmas snow in NC???

Anyway, I did not discourage the little guy. Instead I told him that I would pray for that too. Who knows? it could happen. Right???

As October blended into November and November into December, the weather got...warmer. Still, I did not forget to pray for snow for Christmas. Truman still believed. So I did too.

Then the phone call came. My family wanted to know if we had time to come up and visit. It would be my sister's Christmas gift to us. Don just happened to have the week before Christmas off for his vacation, so we decided (again last minute) all pile in the van and head on up.

This is what we arrived to:

Well...as you can see, one little boy got a BIG prayer answered for him this Christmas!
